“It must be love” between Bre and Andy, who held their wedding at the Gailes Hotel and Spa in Irvine and the end of the Summer. This was one relaxed wedding that was full of surprises.
While the girls got ready in the honeymoon suite, Andy and the boys headed to the driving range for a very relaxed start to the day. Having smashed a few drives and shared some jokes, it was their turn to get suited up.
The ceremony was held on the hotels rooftop terrace, which doubles as the location for the speeches and meals – it has a really special feel and probably has my favourite setup for that part of the day. It just feels more cosy and intimate and perfect for relaxed weddings. This is also where those surprises took place.
The first was at the end of the ceremony where the celebrant asked the guests to stand check under the chairs. There they found lyrics and sunglasses which everyone donned before serenading the Bride and Groom down the Aisle to ‘It must be love’ by Madness.
The second surprise was at the speeches where Ami, Bre’s daughter stood up and shared that she had legally changed her name to match her new Mum and Dad, presenting Andy with the certificate in a very sweet and beautiful moment that had all the guests -and this photographer – reaching for a tissue!
